Transferring vehicle ownership in Dubai is a straightforward process when you have the right documents. Here's what you need to know.
Required Documents
- Original Emirates ID of both buyer and seller
- Vehicle registration card (Mulkiya)
- Insurance certificate for the buyer
- Passport copies with visa pages
- Vehicle test certificate (if applicable)
Step-by-Step Process
- Visit an RTA-approved vehicle testing center
- Complete the vehicle inspection
- Submit documents at RTA customer service center
- Pay the transfer fees (AED 510 + AED 200 knowledge fee)
- Receive new registration card
Important Notes
The vehicle must pass a technical inspection if the registration has been expired for more than 6 months. Both parties must be present for the transfer.
